About Michael
My name is Michael Sheehan and I'm based in Bandon, Co. Cork.
I started servicing oil boilers more than 25 years ago, after qualifying as a heating engineer, and I've been at it ever since — keeping heating systems across West Cork running safely and efficiently.
I use top-of-the-range computerised testing equipment on every job. In boiler terms, that means more miles per gallon: a properly tuned boiler burns less oil, and that means lower running costs for you.
After every service I give you a computer printout of your boiler's emissions, so you can see exactly how it's performing.
I keep up to date with the heating industry by working alongside boiler manufacturers, oil companies and training organisations.
When you call me to service or repair a boiler, I get to you as quickly as I can, and on time.
It's just me on the tools, so when you ring the number on this page, you're talking straight to the person doing the work — no call centre, no passing around, and I'm the one who stands over it afterwards.

Annual servicing
A yearly service removes soot and carbon build-up and re-establishes your boiler's optimum combustion efficiency. Manufacturers recommend it, and it keeps your boiler safe, reliable and cheaper to run.
HVO — cleaner fuel
HVO is 100% fossil-free, biodegradable and carbon-certified — the cleanest modern fuel option for oil-fired heating. I can advise you on whether your boiler is suited to making the switch.

Michael Sheehan Oil Boiler Servicing covers an area within roughly 30–35 minutes of Bandon, Co. Cork — including Clonakilty, Timoleague, Innishannon, Ballinhassig, Kinsale, Enniskeane, Ballineen, Crossbarry, Kilbrittain, Dunmanway, Courtmacsherry and the surrounding West Cork countryside. Do you handle breakdowns?
Yes — boiler breakdowns are a regular part of the job, especially in winter. If you're left with no heat or hot water, call me directly and I aim to respond within 24–48 hours, depending on my schedule.
What brands do you work with?
I specialise in Firebird and Grant domestic oil boilers — the two most common oil boiler brands in Irish homes — and I've decades of hands-on experience with both.
Do you work with gas boilers?
No — I work on oil boilers only. I'm not registered or certified to work on gas units, so for a gas boiler you'll need an RGI-registered gas installer.
Do you commission boilers?
Not at this current point in time. My focus is on servicing, repairing and maintaining existing oil boilers in the Bandon and West Cork area.
Do you test for carbon monoxide?
Yes — I test for carbon monoxide at every single service. It's an invisible, odourless and dangerous gas, so this check is a standard part of every visit.
Do you fit boilers?
I don't fit boilers directly, but I work alongside trusted local plumbers in the Bandon area who do. I can advise you on the best way to upgrade your system.
How do I book a service?
